Abstract
PURPOSE: To detect accurately and quickly which coking chamber is emitting black smoke in an abnormal operation, by using the corresponding relation between the time lag of the detecting signal for black smoke and charging operations.
CONSTITUTION: Many coking chambers 11 in the coke oven 1 are charged with coals, which are leveled with the leveling rod 23 and heated to be carbonized. When cracks occur in the joint of the oven walls 13, the gas leak from the coking operation and emits black smoke from the exhauster 5. The black smoke is detected with the smoke densitometer 6 and the indicator 7 shows the smoke concentration. The coking chamber emitting black smoke 11 is judged by using the corresponding relation between the time lag of the detecting signal for the black smoke and charging operations. For instance, the output signal S2 for the indicator 7 and the leveling signal S1 for the leveling rod 23 in the pusher 2 are charted on the recorder 8. The damaged coking chamber is thus judged by the time lag of the record.
