Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a high-quality transparent soap having good transparency and hardness in a short period, by blending a transparent soapy glue made from animal or vegetable fats and oils, or their fatty acids with a specific amount of a five-membered ring compound of a carboxylic acid.
CONSTITUTION: A) A transparent soapy glue made from animal or vegetable fats and oils (e.g. a mixture of beef tallow, coconut butter, castor oil, etc.) or their fatty acids is blended with B) a five-membered ring compound of a carboxylic acid, its alkali metal salt, or the compound having an alkanolamine salt structure (e.g. 2- pyrrolidone-5-carboxylic acid, its salt, etc.). The blending ratic of anhydrous A) to B) is preferably 100:1.5W12. The blend thus obtained is perfumed, subjected to color mixing, cooled, solidified, cut, dried, adjusted, and packed to give the desired transparent soap.
