Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare acrylic acid by the catalytic gaseous oxidation of propylene conveniently in an industrial scale, wherein the waste water is neutralized with an alkaline substance and then purified to be recycled as the absorbing water for collecting the acrylic acid.
CONSTITUTION: In the preparation process of acrylic acid by the catalytic gaseous oxidation of propylenerecycling a part of the waste gas in this oxidation, the waste water of this process is neutralized to pH 3-7 by adding an alkaline substance and then purified through a reverse osmosis membrane to be reused as a whole or a part of the absorption water for collecting the acrylic acid. The oxygen concentration of the starting gas in which a part of the waste gas is mixed may be ≤0.5vol%.
EFFECT: A high quality acrylic acid can be obtained with high stability and in high yield for a long period with little pollution problems.
