Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a data transmission system by excising inspections of the S/N deterioration and characteristic deterioration of each part through the measurement of a system margin during data transmission by using a simple constitution. CONSTITUTION:On the system margin supervisory system of a light communication system, a photo signal transmitted via light transmission line 1 is supplied to photo detector 2 such as an avalanche diode, whose output is amplified by amplifier 3, and the output of amplifier 3 is applied to automatic threshold setting circuit 4, and the 1st and 2nd discriminative regenerating circuits 5 and 6. Then, thershold level Vth1 equivalent to a reception level is applied from threshold setting circuit 4 to regenerating circuit 5, where a received signal is discriminated with threshold level Vth1. Regenerating circuit 6, on the other hand, discriminates the received signal with threshold level Vth2, from terminal 11 and the discrimination signal is applied to exclusive OR circuit 8 via delay circuit 7 to be compared with the discrimination signal of regenerating circuit 5, so that if they disagree each other, a supervisory output signal will be sent.
