Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a styrene resin sheet having excellent slipperiness againt a stretch film and good formability, while keeping its original transparency and nerve, by biaxially orienting a styrene resin sheet containing a synthetic ruber to the extent that the orientation relaxation stress of the oriented sheet attains a specific value.
CONSTITUTION: A styrene resin sheet containing 0.5-3.0, pref. 1-2 wt%, of a synthetic rubber, is biaxially oriented to give a sheet having an orientation relaxation stress measured according to ASTM-D-1504 of 5-15 kg/cm2. The synthetic rubber is e.g. polybutadiene, a random or block copolymer of butadiene (≥50%) and other copolymerizable monomer such as styrene
