Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce weight and the number of parts through sealing the bearing by bringing the slinger into sliding contact with an oil seal with a ball placed between the case and the inner ring.
CONSTITUTION: A key-shaped projection 5 is formed on a mount surface of a case 1 and a given number of balls are placed between an inner case 7 fixed by shrinkage fit to the shaft 21 and the inner diameter 2 of the case 1. A slinger 13 is securely fitted a section swelled from the case 1 of the inner ring while a slinger 13 is brought into slidig contact with an oil seal securely fitted into the open end of the case 1 thereby sealing the bearing. With such an arrangement, the case 1 serves as an outer ring and hence, thereby compactizing the bearing. In addition, the projection 5 can facilitate the installation and removal the bearing. Furthermore, the inner ring 7 and the ball 3 absorbs the stretch of the shaft 21. Coupled with the perfect sealing of the oil seal, this eliminates leakage of grease thereby improving the durability of the bearing
