Abstract

PURPOSE: To operate properly and prevent noxious gas by turning a rocker arm according to the operational conditions to vary or damp lift of a suction-and-exhaust valve, which consists of two arms in contact with the suction-and-exhaust valve and a cam.
CONSTITUTION: A rocker arm 1, consisting of the primary arm 4 in contact with a cam and the secondary arm 7 in contact with a suction-and-exhaust valve 5, turns freely by moving both arms 4, 7 with the primary and the secondary partition plate 10, 11 which slide on the external surface of a rocker shaft 2. The primary and the secondary oil pressure chamber 8, 9 are made between the shaft 2 and both partition plates 10, 11 and a communication aperture 12 is included in the shaft 2 to communicate both chambers 8, 9.
