PURPOSE:To raise the peak temperature of a flexural crystal vibrator by improving the electrode density and linear expansion coefficient. CONSTITUTION:When the peak temperatur is Tp, primary temprature coefficient alpha, and secondary temperature coefficient beta, their correlation is theoretically calculated as Tp=25-alpha/2beta, in which beta is determined only by the crystal. Therefore, to raise Tp, it is enough to enlarge the value of alpha. The value of alpha is larger as the linear expansion coefficient is larger, or the material density is larger. Hence, when the density of the material used in the electrode is larger than the density of crystal, and when the linear expansion coefficient is larger than 14.2X10<-6>/ deg.C, the peak temperature may be raised beyound 40 deg.C, which has been impossible conventionally. Accordingly, by parallel use of two flexural crytal vibrators differing in the peak temperature, the excellent frequency-temperature characteristics may be obtained.
