PURPOSE:To obtain a vibrator which has high performances and is suitable for small wristwatches by so forming the vibrator that the rectangular vibrating reed provided with bevel portions at both end parts of the vibrator is point- or linear supported from both ends at the nodal points of the flexural vibrations of the bevel portions. CONSTITUTION:In a thickness slip vibrator in which a rectangular vibrating reed 4 formed slender in the direction where thickness slip displacements are produced and provided with bevel parts 4a at both end parts is supported at both end parts by two supporting members 3, U-shaped supporting members 3 having protrusions 3a at the end are provided in the upper part of the two lead terminals 2 secured to an insulation substrate 1. The bevel parts 4 at both end parts of the vibrating reed 4 are supported by the supporting members 3, and the optimum positions at these supporting points are made the nodal points of the flexural vibrations of the bevel parts 4, which are then point- or linear supported.
