Abstract

PURPOSE: To restart only the recorder without any support from a central processing device by having a function to detect the error block due to servo-off.
CONSTITUTION: There are retained in a memory 1 the respective areas of a restart processing program PR2, an operational resistor 3 and a restart stand-by counter 4. In order to restart after servo-off, a change-over operating section 31 is operated to start the PR2. The content of the counter 4 is shifted to the resistor 3, and a magnetic tape device MT22 finishes the reading operation of one block so that an offering is effected in the PR2 after the tape 12 stopped. The PR2 senses a status detecting circuit 27 so that a speaker 29 is started, when an error is detected by the reading operation, so that a reverse command of one block is generated for the MT22 and so that the reading command of one block is generated in response to the offering of the operation termination from the MT22
