Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an automatic control system for stopping train at predetermined position, which controls operation of train in accordance with the gradient of track by determining train stopping pattern on the basis of effective deceleration speed that is lowered by the gradient of track, whereby it is enabled to reduce operation time of train and intervals between trains.
CONSTITUTION: The automatic control system of this invention is provided for co- operative association with markers 9 disposed at predetermined positions along the track for producing position signals, and it comprises antenna 1 and receiving means 2 for receiving the position signals, train stopping pattern producing sections 6a, 6b for producing train stopping patterns Vp1, Vp2 from the position signals Ps1, ps2 detected by the receiving means 2, speed pattern switching section 8 for selecting the lower one of the pattern values produced from the sections 6a, 6b, speed pulse generating section 4 rotated in synchronism with wheels 3, speed detecting section 5 for detecting train speed VT through measurement of the speed pulse, and proportional control means 7 for controlling brake on the basis of difference between the speed VT and speed VP
