Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an amorphous alloy with superior strength, stability, corrosion resistance and fiber forming property, obtd. by adding specific amts. of P, Si, Al, C and B to a Cr-contg. alloy based on one or more out of Fe, Ni and Co.
CONSTITUTION: The alloy consists of Cr; 5W20 atomic %, one or more out P, C, B, Si and Al; 15W35 atomic %, and the balance one or more out of Fe, Ni and Co. At this time, the compsn. is regulated so as to satisfy the following relations; P≥ 0.5%, Al+Si≥1% and P+(3/2)si+Al≤16.5%. By proper combination of the amt. of metalloids, P, C and B added with the amt. of Si and Al, high strength, high temp. stability and high corrosion resistance are imparted and the compsn. is made amorphous, thereby enhancing the fiber forming property
