Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the title compsn. based on specific amts. of benzoic acids, nitrous acids, phosphoric acids and mercaptobenzothiazole (salts), and having corrosion preventing power to Al castings, brass, copper, etc. for the cooling system of an internal combustion engine.
CONSTITUTION: The compsn, is obtd. by blending 100 parts by wt. (as benzoic acid) of benzoic acids with 1.3W20 parts (as HNO2) of nitrous acids such as HNO2 and NaNO2, 3.8W120 parts (as H3PO4) of phosphoric acids such as H3PO4 and NaH2PO4, and 1W20 parts of one or more out of mercaptobenzothiazole (salts) and benzo (or tolyl)triazole. 6000W70000ppm of this compsn. is added to water optionally contg. an antifreezing agent and used at pH 6.5W9.5
