Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare the title powder of good fluidity ever if containing much quantity of inorganic non-resin component, by pulverizing a bulk resin obtained by blending a resin with an inorganic non-resin component having a specific average particle size.
CONSTITUTION: The objective powder can be prepared by pulverizing a bulk resin obtained by wet blending of a resin with at least 20vol.% of an inorganic non-resin compenent (filler) having an average particle size ≤ 1μ. Said non-resin components (fillers) include titania, talc, calcium carbonate, silicic anlydride, copper powder, zinc powder, carbon black, etc. The effect of the particle size can be ex- plained as follows: when ≤1μ, each particle seems to be brought to covered state with the resin layer, resulting in water adsorption to the particle surface apparently more hydrophilic than that of the resin, leading to reduction in the cohesive energy between the particles, thereby being supposed to effect improvement of the fluiding in the spray coating
