Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible the exact inspection on the quality of the weld zone, by operating double integration for the signal being sent from the acceleration sensor attached to the electrode tip holder, and by converting this signal to a signal corresponding to the displacement of the electrode tip and the electrode holder.
CONSTITUTION: The signal from the acceleration sensor 6 is amplified by the amplifier 8 and is inputted to the double integration circuit 10 and the trigger circuit 11 through the gain adjusting variable resistor 9. The trigger circuit 11 starts the gate timers 12W13 depending on the leading of the acceleration signal; while the gate timer 13 is starting, the gate circuit 14 sends the displacement signal from the double integration circuit 10 to the maximum amplitude arithmetic circuit 15. This signal is sent to the judging circuit 16 which produces the scattering generation signal when the input signal is larger than the upper limit, or produces the defective weld signal when the input signal is smaller than settled lower limit, or produces the good weld product signal in other cases. According to this method, the exact inspection on the judgment for the quality is carried out in the spot welding
