Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare an epoxy resin composition giving a prepreg having improved storage stability, by compounding (1) a mixture of (A) the condensate of bisphenol A with epichlorohydrin, and (B) an esterified dianhydride, with (2) a specific copolymer.
CONSTITUTION: An epoxy resin composition comprising (A) the condensate of bisphenol A with epichlorohydrin and (B) an ester of an aromatic tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride and an aliphatic diol, is compounded with a copolymer of an alkyl vinyl ether of the formula (n is 14W18; m is 4W6) and maleic anhydride.
EFFECT: The addition of the copolymer of the alkyl vinyl ether and maleic anhydride homogeneously to the prepreg suppresses the moisture absorption and remarkably improves the storage life of the prepreg at a relative humidity of 50W85%
