Abstract

PURPOSE: To decrease a power loss by connecting a collector of a switching transistor to an emitter through a series circuit of a diode and a Zener diode and by giving a voltage obtained at the tertiary winding of a transformer rectified to a junction point of above mentioned two diodes.
CONSTITUTION: A switching transistor 3 is made "on" and "off" by an output modulated a signal corresponding with a deviation of a voltage of a load 6 and a standard voltage 8 at a pulse width modulator 4 of a DC voltage 1 and an output obtained through a transformer 2 is rectified, smoothed and supplied to the load. Between a collector and an emitter of the switching transistor 3 a series circuit of a diode 17 and a Zener diode 18 is connected, by appliing an output obtained from a tertiary winding 2C of a transformer 2 rectified and smoothed to a junction point of these diode 17 and Zener diode 18, a current at a fault time of the switching transistor 3 is made flown through the diode 17 to make a power loss small and also enables a high speed switching
