Abstract

PURPOSE: To vary the reproducing speed without generating any recording mistake with the use of a simple construction by subjecting a motor speed change-over switch to change-over operation thereby to control the tape running speed only during reproduction.
CONSTITUTION: In case the reproducing condition is established by a recording and reproducing switch 2, if a motor speed change-over switch 8 is interchanged, any of reference speed, high speed and low speed drive circuits 11 to 13 of a motor speed control unit 10 is selected so as to effect the normal reproduction, the cue reprduction of the fast forwarding mode and the reproduction for typing through a motor 9. When the switch 2 is brought into its recording condition, only the contacts N and N' at the center of the switch 8 are connected to select only the circuit 11. As a result, during the recording operation, the tape will always run at the reference speed so that the recording mistake resulting from the abnormal tape speed can be prevented
