Abstract

PURPOSE:To quickly detect heterogeneous combustion of a furnace, by processing image signals from a furnace monitoring TV system. CONSTITUTION:An image signal of a burner and its surrounding provided by a furnace monitoring TV 1 is put in an extracting circuit 3 through a monitor TV set 2 and extracted to get only an image signal concerning the center of the flame. The signal is integrated in an integrating circuit 4 with a time constant to remove the minute flickering of the flame and then put in partly to a comparator 7 directly and partly to the comparator 7 as a refernce signal through a reference value arithmetic circuit 5 and memory circuit 6. In case of heterogeneous combustion, a drop of the output level of the integrating circuit 4 is detected to drive an alarm circuit 8. This can increase the change of the extracted signal in case of heterogeneous combustion and decrease the flickering of the signal in case of normal combustion, which quickly and accurately provide detection of heterogeneous combustion.
