Abstract

PURPOSE: To effectively store heat energy as chemical energy by utilizing the endothermic decomposition reaction of magnesium carbonate.
CONSTITUTION: When heat exists in a heat source 2, magnesium carbonate supplied to a regenerator 1 is decomposed to magnesium oxide and carbon dioxide gas by the heat supplied from the heat source 2 through a transfer pipe 3, and carbon dioxide gas is supplied to a carbon dioxide tank 10 through a flow-rate controller 6, transport pipe 7, and a compressor 8 and stored, and heat energy is stored as chemical energy. When heat does not exist in the heat source 2, carbon dioxide gas supplied from a carbon dioxide tank 10 is pressure-controlled by a pressure controller 9, and supplied into the regenerator 1, and allowed to react with magnesium oxide in the regnerator 1, and the generated heat is supplied to a heat utilizing apparatus 4 through a heating pipe 5. Thus, heat energy in 540-900°C is stored
