Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce crosstalk between tracks with narrow tracks by making the gap length of side gaps integer times longer than the longest wavelength of the signals used, with a magnetic head for magnetic reproduction. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic material blocks 1, 2 are butten together and bonded by a bonding agent 7 such as glass or the like to form a gap part, whereby the ring form magnetic head is formed. The gap length 3 for write/read is about 1/3 the minimum magnetization inversion spacing out of the signals used in ordinary digital recording. Side gaps of a gap length 4 are formed on both side face parts of a track width 5 for recording and reproducting. The side face gap length is given the effective gap length integer times the longest wavelength of the signals used. Thereby, the signals being recorded by being leaked to the track side faces are reduced at the writing and high track density recording with less effect by the crosstalk signals from the adjoining tracks is made possible at the reading.
