Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the discharge consumption of a conventional Pd or Ag-Pd alloy electrical contact point material due to anode arc by adding Cu.
CONSTITUTION: 1W15 wt% of Cu is added to Pd or an Ag-Pb alloy contg. 50% Pd as an electrical contact point material for relays, switches, etc. When the resulting Ag-Pd-Cu or Pd-Cu alloy is used as an electrical contact point matierial, anode arc and cathode arc are equilibrated to prevent discharge consumption due to anode arc. Accordingly, it is suitable for use as the material with resistance to discharge consumption and fusion.
