Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the focusing characteristic and stability of plasma flames and rapidly cause vapor growth reaction of a large volume of raw material gases by inserting a specific carbon bar inducing high frequency power within a glass tube forming glass films. CONSTITUTION:Ar is fed from the arrow 2 direction into a glass tube 1 which is moving in the arrow 5 or 5' direction, and high frequency power is applied to the coil 3 wound on the tube 1. High frequency power is induced in the carbon bar 4 sealed in a tube 9 which is prevented of temperature rise by the water 10 being fed like arrows 11, 11' between the glass tubes 8, 9, whereby plasma flames 6 are produced. Thereafter, raw material gases for forming glass films and O2 are added to Ar and the glass film 7 having caused vapor growth reaction by the flames 6 deposits on the inside wall of the tube 1.
