Abstract

PURPOSE: To keep welding strength and eliminate a fear of corrosion by brazing the tube plates and the heat exchange tube inserted by the use of phosphor copper brazing filler metal and paper flux, after applying a brazing process beforehand to both surfaces of each tube plate and the interior surface of insert holes.
CONSTITUTION: A pair of tube plates 2 provided with two or more insert holes 4 are welded to the both ends of the outer cylinder 1, where the both surfaces 1a, 1b and the interior surface of the insert hole 4 are coated with silver brazing filler metal or copper brazing filler metal 7 beforehand in the reduction furnace. The heat exchange tube 3 is to be inserted in the insert hole 4. The heat exchange tube 3 and tube plate 2 are fayed airtightly by brazing using phosphor copper brazing filler metal and paper flux together. By this method the sufficient welding strength can be maintained as well as the fear of corrosion can be eliminated.
