Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent seisure of an engine due to shortage of lubricating oil by grounding an ignition circuit in response to the detecting operation of an oil level detector so as to stop the engine.
CONSTITUTION: An arm 24 is integrally connected to the base plate 23, which is made to protrude into a crank chamber 2, such that it protrudes inwardly. A switch 21 and a float 22 are attached to the lower side of the arm 24 through a switch holder 25. A conductive contact 27 is mounted through an insulating plate 26 upon the upper side of the arm 24. The terminal 33 of the detecting switch 21 is connected between the charging rectifying diode 41 and capacitor 42 of a capacitor discharge ignition circuit 40, and a terminal 30 is connected with a downstream of an ignition coil 44, thus constituting a detecting circuit A. When an oil level is lowered to turn on the switch 21, the voltage generated is fed through the circuit A from the terminal 33 to the terminal 30, and discharge takes place to the earthes 46 and 46' so that a sufficient voltage is not impressed upon the ignition coil 44 to stop the engine.
