Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare yeast cells by culturing methanol- or ethanol-assimilable yeast belonging to Pichia genus.
CONSTITUTION: Methanol- or ethanol-assimilable yeast belonging to Pichia aganobii, e.g. Pichia aganobii-Y-16 (FERM-P No.2427), Pichia aganobii-Y-145 (FERM- P No.2428), is inoculated in a medium containing methanol and/or ethanol as main carbon sources, and aerobically cultured. After the culturing, yeast cells are separated from the medium.
