Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent erroneous tripping of circuitbreaker due to rush current for exciting transformer, by providing resistive circuit in parallel with circuitbreaker provided between a bus and a transformer then connecting said resistive circuit in parallel when throwing in the circuitbreaker.
CONSTITUTION: Electromagnetic contactor 5 and current limiting resistor 6 are connected in parallel with distribution line circuitbreaker associated with exciting coil provided between the bus and the transformer 2, and when activating the transformer circuit electromagnetic contactor 5 is first thrown in to bypass rush current and to limit through resistor 6, then when rush current is brought to steady state circuitbreaker 7 is thrown in by timer and electromagnetic contactor 5 is opened to bring normal operational condition. Consequently erroneous tripping due to rush current for exciting the transformer is prevented and the rating of circuitbreacker is reduced.
