Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a shaft suspension apparatus with a simple construction which allows accurate damping of the wind-up vibration otherwise causing a pitching vibration in the suspension system due to a change in the torque of the driving system without addition of a special vibration absorbing weight.
CONSTITUTION: This shaft suspension apparatus is composed of a packing plate mounted outside both ends of a shaft box supported in suspension with the body tnrough an elastic body and a brake device mounted to the plate. In other words, the elastic body 8 is interposed compressed between a rear axle housing where a rear axle shaft 1 is suspended through a rear axle bearing 3 and a frame body 6 supported with a retaining piece fixed to a housing 2 on the inner periphery of the packing plate 5. With such an arrangement, the plate 5 can elastically move in all directions with respect to the housing 2 and in the rotary direction on the shaft 1.
