Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain the improvement of speech quality and a decrease in error rate by phase-comparing the write timing of a plural number of shift registers with that of a signal selecting each paralleled output and by generating a selective signal corresponding to its result. CONSTITUTION:Frame synchronous circuit 18 detects the frame synchronism of time-division multiple PCM signals, and shift registers 20 22 have a number of bits euivalent to the word length of the signals. Then, the write timing of registers 20 22 is phase-compared 23 with the timing of a selective signal selecting respective paralleled outputs of registers 20 22. Corresponding to this result, selective- signal circuit 23 is controlled to decide whether extraction should be done indluding the shift register where the word of fixed codes of the PCM signal or skipping over the shift register. In this way, the selective signal is generated so as to use registers as both an elastic storage and series-parallel converter circuit, thereby improving speech quality and decreasing an error rate.
