Abstract

PURPOSE: To take temperature and humidity of air taken in by an outdoor unit to obtain data of atmospheric condition for calculating a lower limit value of evaporating temperature at which the unit can conduct frost-free operation, and to operate, when the evaporating temperature is below the lower limit, the outdoor unit at a high speed and an indoor unit at a low speed.
CONSTITUTION: When a refigerating unit is operating at heating cycle, atmospheric temperature and humidity are measured with a temperature detecting equipment (thermometer) 12 and a humidity detecting equipment (hygrometer) 13 for calculating a frost-causing marginal evaporating temperature and for memorizing (or keeping in memory of) thus calculated value. An evaporating temperature and a discharge pressure of the unit in operation are measured by using an evaporating temperature detecting equipment 14 and a pressure detecting equipment 11. And then, the evaporating temperature is compared with the frost-causing marginal evaporating temperature by means of a comparing circuit 18, and different instruction (or indication) is to be issued depending on whether the evaporating temperature is equal to or higher than the frost causing marginal evaporating temperature or the former is lower than the latter.
