Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture an uniform scratch-figured, smoked coppertonal rain pipe by a simple method in which a decorated metal plate manufactured by forming a colored layer, a scratch figure, and a transparent protective layer on the surface of a copper-plated metal plate is molded into a rain pipe form.
CONSTITUTION: The copper surface of the copper-plated metal plate I is colored with green, black, etc., by oxidation, sulfurization, electrolytic oxidation, plating, etc., to form the colored layer 2. Then, the colored layer 2 is given the scratch figure 3 by blushing, etc., and then the water-soluble rust-proofing paint 6 is coated to prevent discoloration. Subsequently, a transparent paint composed primarily of a cold setting resin, e.g., urethane resin, etc., is coated over the rust-proofing paint 6 to form the transparent protective layer 4. The flat decorated metal plate 5 thus obtained is subjected to a forming process using the processer into a rain pipe form.
