Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable display of window indicating arbitrary X-coordinate and arbitrary Y-coordinate on a cathode ray tube screen by overlapping on a signal waveform.
CONSTITUTION: In a control circuit 1, digital X-coordinates are generated according to the scanning period, and digital Y signal showing the signal waveform is genearted at the same time. Both signals are added to the X- and Y-axis circuits of cathode ray tube through a transducer. When the X-coordinates are scanned from 0 to the maximum value, signals of Y-coordinates showing the signal waveform are forwarded accordingly, so that the signal waveform is displayed in the cathode ray tube. At this time, coincidence signals are sent into the circuit 1 from comparator circuits 7 and 8 with respect to X=X1 and X=X2, respectively. Then, the switch 5 is changed over, and the interval of X1<X<X2 is scanned and is displayed in the window. Thus, the window of coordinates arbitrarily set in the variable memory circuit is displayed on the cathode ray tube, and this window appears to the observer to be overlapped with the signal waveform owing to the afterglow of the cathode ray tube and afterglow of the eye.
