Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to ensure the transfer of a transfer material, which have its letters arranged close together or reduced in size, from a transfer apparatus to a next step by providng means for sucking the transfer material through a gap between the string shaped members of movable transfer material supporting means at a position between a transfer psition and transfer meterial separating and guide means.

CONSTITUTION: A transfer paper support 19 for supporting transfer paper P in a transfer step is made into a cylinder, which is wound equi-distantly in parallel with its center axis with thin insulating strings 196. There are arranged inside of the support 19 both a transfer corona discharger 28, which is operative to impress the corona discharge current from the back of the transfer paper through the gap between the strings, and a suction nozzle 18 which is operative to suck the transfer paper P through the gap of the strings 196. At the point where the leading end of the transfer paper P of the smallest size to be used is separated and guided by a pawl 30 until it is subjected to the action of a suction device 31', the nozzle 18 is arranged at such a position as has its trailing end subjected to the suction so that even the transfer paper of small size can be accurately and reliably separated and fed out.
