Abstract

PURPOSE: To adjust the intensities of respective beams of first order indirectly to desired intensities by photoelectrically converting the beams of zero order so that the composed signals resultantly obtained are decomposed and taken out as n kinds of beam intensity adjusting signals corresponding to the n beams of the first order.
CONSTITUTION: An acoustic optical element 1 is supplied with n kinds of modulated signals, which are modulated by n kinds of image signals S1, S2 and so on, in a multiplex manner. Then, the n beams L1, L2 and so on of first order, which are resultantly emanating in different directions from the element 1, are used to effect the image recording on a photosensitive element 2 through a polygonal mirror 7. At this time, the composed signals, which are produced by photoelectrically converting the beam L0 of zero order emanating from the element 1 simultaneously with the n beams of the first order, are divided into n kinds of adjusting signals. The intensities of these signals are compared with a preset electric quantity, which is preset and suitable for recording, so that the adjustment is accomplished to reduce the difference inbetween to zero. Thus, the intensities of the n kinds of testing modulating signals fed to the element 1 are controlled.
