Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize the effective use of the circuit as well as to enhance the reliability of the facsimile transmission by checking the quality of the signal which causes the transmission error.
CONSTITUTION: The phase shift, the inter-code interference and the like which are the factors of the signal quality are counted, and interface signal SQD showing the quality of the signal obtained through the above counting is transmitted to the terminal unit as the control signal. In case the time during which SQD shows the defect of the signal is short, the frequencies SQD shows the defect are counted via counter 1 in order to know the number of the line where the fault is caused. While the defect showning time is long, the time duration SQD shows the defect is counted via counter 2 since the error caused by one-time display of the defect covers over some pieces of the line. The logic sum of the output of counter 1 and 2 is obtained through OR gate 7, and one of the output is turned on with output 8 turned on to show the fact that the error quantity exceeds the set threshold level.
