Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform flaw inspection on a tube to be imspected having a bent part, by providing a driving unit to drive the probe so as to perform rotary scanning of ultrasonic beam around the axis of the tube being inspected.
CONSTITUTION: A signal coupling unit 22, in order to couple the electrical signals of an ultrasonic transmitter/receiver installed on the outside of the tube being inspected 1 and transmission/reception element 3 installed in a probe unit 21, couples the electric signals due to contact or non-contact between the side of rotor 5 and the side of stator 6. A driving unit 23 is composed of motor 7 and gear mechanism 8 to provide necessary driving force for the rotary scanning of the probe unit 21. And by linking the rotary shafts of each constituent unit with a flexible linkage 9 in a row a continuous rotary scanning may be realized.
