Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the dust collection efficiency by installing the electrode for electric field formation capable of passing the treating gas adjacent to the dust collection electrode.
CONSTITUTION: Between a sheet shaped dust collection electrode 1 equally spaced in plural number and a wire shaped discharge electrode 2 layouted in one row in plural number, n electrode for electric field formation is installed which surrounds the discharge electrode 2 by matal mesh or plural layouting of the wire in the form of a vertical stripes capable of passing the treating gas. Then, voltage is charged to the electrode for electric field formation 3 in which it has same electrode property and current is not emitted from the discharge electrode 2 to the electrode for electric field formation 3 and that no discharge is produced between the electrode for electric field formation 3 and the dust collection electrode 1. By doing so, when dust including treating gas which is introduced by an upper flow gas control plate 4 to the passage between the dust collection electrode 1 and the electrode for electric field formation 3, passes through the space of the electrode for electric field formation 3 and flows out from the passage of the discharge electrode 2 side, this electrode for electric field formation 3 actuates as an electric field curtain and also charges much electric field to the gas.
