Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the subject facilities wherein the temperature of the exhaust gas is detected at a gas flue of said facilities, and when the said temperature becomes abnormally high, the gas is cooled by pouring water in front of a dry type dust catcher, whereby facilities behind the dust catcher are protected from damages due to high temperatures.
CONSTITUTION: An exhaust gas generated from a blast furnace 3 is passed through a dust catcher 4, and thereafter introduced from a dry type dust catcher 11 into a wet dust catcher 7 by the switching of change-over valves 12a and 12b, and in said wet dust catcher 7 the exhaust gas is cleaned by driving a generator 10 by means of a recovery turbine 9. Althernately, after the exhaust gas has passed through a Venturi scrubber 5, it is also passed through a wet type dust catcher 7, and recovered. When the temperature of the blast furnace exhaust gas has become abnormally high, the temperature is detected at the high temperature side temperature detector 17 in the flue 13, and the resulting signal operates switches of a water source 15 and a comparison setter 16, water being poured through nozzles 19a and 19b onto the exhaust gas thereby to cool the same. Adjustment of the quantity of water to be poured is carried out by the temperature of gas after cooling by the low temperature side temperature detector 18, and operating a pouring water adjusting valve 14 by the resulting signal.
