Abstract

PURPOSE: To rationally control ventilation of a tunnel when a fire breaks out, by detecting the air conditions in the tunnel and selecting an operation pattern corresponding to the air conditions and by controlling the operation of a blower and a ventilator.
CONSTITUTION: When vehicles 11, 12, 13,... are moving on a road in the tunnel and the fire breaks out on the vehicle 12, for example, the fire is detected by a fire detector 8 and a detection signal is transmitted to a tunnel ventilation controller 1. This controller 1 selects an operation pattern according to the content of the detection signal to fully operate the entrance side ventilator 4 and the exit side blower 5. As a result, the air pressure in the tunnel is distributed to have two neutral points. At the place of the vehicle 12 on the fire, the air flows in the direction of proceeding of the vehicles.
