Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable an input-output device to stop or start operating without influencing other operating device by using an input-output branch unit for data communication which employs a common circuit and several input-output devices connected to it. CONSTITUTION:When input-output device 5 is connected to connection terminal part 12 of input-output branch unit 3, a voltage is applied to terminals 12-13 and 12-14, thereby operating relay 15. With contacts 17 and 18 both closed, terminating circuits of reception control lines RS1 and RS2, and transmission control lines GS1 and GS2 are constituted respectively. With contacts 19 to 22 opened, direct feeding to circuits after input-output device 6 is cut off and relaying is made via input- output device 5, so that there will be not influence upon other input-output devices at an operation-start time. When the operation is interruptted, the power supply is OFF and relay 15 recovers, so that lines well be connected directly to circuits after input-output device 6.
