Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the matrix driving of display possible by supplying a picture signal to column electrodes while shifting line by line the conduction of row electrode of an EC display panel of picture elements formed of intersection parts between each row electrode and column electrode.
CONSTITUTION: At every time then clock pulse 10 is generated, picture signal 9 for on line is stored in line memory circuit 11 and the output of shift register 12 is shifted in sequence. Bu driver circuit 13, circuit 11 supplies either write signal or erase signal to the row electrodes of EC display body 15. Then, each row electtode made open by the output of circuit 12 is connected line by line to a constant potential by switching circuit 14 sequentially.
