Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the title composition of semi-rigid or rigid type, retaining the characteristics of the original resin, for use in food packaging, by incorporating a vinyl chloride type resin with a plasticizer and a mixture comprising a fatty acid partial ester of polyhydric alcohol and a fatty acid ester of polyoxyethylene sorbitan.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition can be prepared by incorporating (1) 100 parts by wt. of a vinyl chloride type resin with (2) ≤ 20 parts by wt. of a plasticizer, and (3) 2-5 parts by wt, of a wixture comprising (a) a fatty acid partial ester of polyhydric alcohol, and (b) a fatty acid ester of polyoxyethylene sorbitan (e.g. polyoxyethylene sorbitan monolaurate, etc.). Said polyhydric alcohol is selected from polyglycerin, propylene glycol, sorbitan, sucrose, polyethylene glycol, and dipentaery thritol. The quantities of the component (3) required for anti-fogging effect are 4-5 and 2-3 parts by wt. in the case of plasticizer-free state and its content of about 10 parts, respectively.
