Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a tin oxide film of required pattern by one heat treatment without masking nor etching by thermally decomposing paste liquid including organic tin compound and inorganic tin compound via screen printing.
CONSTITUTION: Paste liquid is prepared by dissolving and dispersing organic stannous salt Sn(OR)2 or organic acid stannous salt Sn(OOR)2, where R represents alkyl group, and inorganic stannous salt SnCl2 or the like in organic solvent such as ethyl cellulose or the like and adding thickener such as polysaccharide of ethyl cellulose or the like thereto. After this pasts liquid is screen printed on the substrate such as glass or the like, it is charged into a tunnel furnace where it is gradually increased from room temperature to 400 to 550°C. and then retained at the temperature for necessary time such as, for example, 5 min. for thermal decomposition. Then, it is gradually cooled and discharged from the tunnel furnace. Then, it is washed with water to thereby form a tin oxide film transparent and conductive on the substrate.
