Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an electrode having all of heat resistance, conductivity and corrosion resistance through the process consisting of coating the surface of the powder particles of a high heat resistance material with a high conductivity material, and combining and molding said coating particles. CONSTITUTION:The surface of the powder particles of a high heat resistance material (e.g. W, Mo, Ta, graphite or WC) is coated with a high-conductivity material (e.g. Ag, Cu, Au or Pt). An electrode for discharge machining which has a high conductivity as a whole can be obtained by combining and molding this coating of said heat-resistant powder particles through sintering or by means of a hot press.
