Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent deterioration of a photosensitive element and to improve the performance and durability by making a cleaning brush of carbon fibers.
CONSTITUTION: A cleaning brush for removing the residual toners from a photosensitive element is made of carbon fibers. Since the carbon fibers have conducting property, they are so free from friction charging property as not to recharge the photosensitive element as well as have an electrification preventing property so that they electrostatically remove developing powders thereby to restrain the powders from being trapped again. Since, moreover, the carbon fibers have a self-lubricating property, they have slipping effects with the photosensitive element so that they can partly prevent deteioration of the photosensitive element and partly improve the durability of the brush.
