Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable optimal washing irrespective of the quantity of clothing by relating the measurement of dynamic pressure of washing water with the operation of a motor and keeping constant the swirling velocity of the washing water.
CONSTITUTION: The rotary shaft 3 of a pulsator 2 fitted in the bottom of a washing tank 1 is driven by a motor 5 which is connected to a power source through a thyristor 6, and the gate 7 of the thyristor 6 is controlled by the voltage drop across a resistor 10. A projection 8 is fitted at a corner of the tank 1: a strain gauge 9 fitted on the wall of the projection 8 is connected to the control power source via the resistor 10. With the internal pressure of the projection 8 increased, the resistance of the resistor 10 increases to decrease the voltage drop e. Thus the measurements of dynamic pressure of washing water 16 are related with the operation of the motor 5, to keep constant the swirling velocity ω of the washing water.
