Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the offset and the toner image supporting member from being wound on a fixing roller by atomizing a parting liquid into mists so that a small required quantity of parting liquid may be stably and uniformly applied to the fixing roller.
CONSTITUTION: The particles of silicone oil, which are atomized by the vibrations of the walls of a container 4 by a high frequency vibrator 5, are blown from a guide 9 directly onto a fixing roller 7 by the air jet coming from a nozzle 6 thereby to form a sticky, thin and uniform oil layer. During the rotations of the fixing roller, the mists of the silicone oil are always blown, but during the stop the vibrator 5 and an air pump 10 are so controlled to effect the blowing operations. The excess mists having failed to be applied to the circumference of the roller 7 are sucked and removed by a duct 12. During the rotations of the roller 7, therefore, a necessary quantity of silicone oil can be stably and uniformly applied to effect the excellent fixation.
