Abstract
PURPOSE:To stabilize performance as well as permit the enlargement of capacity with increased air amount by using a turbocompressor by lowering the pressure of booster air. CONSTITUTION:The liquid O2 taken out of the air separation equipment 1 is raised its pressure to approx. 120 to 130 kg/cm<2>G, then restored its temperature up to ordinary temperature by heat exchange with original air at the oxygen heat exchangers 11 and 9 and the oxygen precooler 6, and lastly taken out as the high pressure O2 product 20. On the other hand, the about 5kg/cm<2> original air subject to heat exchange at the equipment 1 is restored its temperature up to ordinary temperature through the heat exchangers 10 and 8 and the precooler 5, and then sent into the booster compressor 4. And, the original air compressed to 25 to 40 kg/cm<2>G by the compressor 4 is partly cooled by the precooler 5 and partly by the olefin cooler 7 through the precooler 6 to approx. - 27 deg.C, and furthermore cooled by the heat exchangers 10 and 11 to approx. - 116 deg.C, followed by branching. Then, the one part is cooled through the heat exchangers 10 and 11 down to approx. - 146 deg.C, then expanded by the expansion valve 26 up to approx. 5 kg/cm<2>G to cool it to approx. 173 deg.C, and then supplied to the lower part of the rectifying tower of the equipment 1.
