Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent cross talk and the adverse effect on the life of liquid crystal due to unnecessary voltage application, by changing the effective voltage applied in matching with the temperature characteristics of liquid crystal display board.
CONSTITUTION: The cell 1 is connected in series with the P-MOSFET 2 and current limit resistor 4 being the switching means, and is connected in parallel with the gate control circuit 3 and the dividing means 5. The voltage dividing means 5 consists of the capacitor C3 connected in parallel with D1 to D6, capacitor C1 in parallel with D1 and D2, and capacitor C2 in parallel with D1 to D4, and diodes D1 to D6. The power supply voltage is split into a plurality to the effective value according to the temperature, and the power supply voltage is fed to the liquid crystal with a distance not remaining DC component, e.g., 3/2T of the drive waveform, with P-MOSFET 2. Thus, the effective voltage is lowered according to the increased temperature even at selection or non-selection, allowing to avoid the cross talk at high temperature and unnecessary voltage application.
