Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain uniform quality connection and improve work efficiency by connecting wires with soldering material melted by induction heating and connecting at the same time the insulation layers with an external sleeve melted by excess heat thereof.
CONSTITUTION: An stripped end 2 of a wire is inserted into a solder sleeve 4 having approximately same inside and outside diameter as an insulation layer 3 of the wire and consisting of a plastic sleeve containing a soldering material 6, which is then placed in a tubular forming die 9 of an induction heating device 7 having a high frequency coil 8 on its outside. The soldering material 6 is melted by applying high frequency current to the induction coil 8 to connect the wire 2 to the other wire. While no induction current flows in the plastic sleeve 5, it is melted by the excess heat generated by the soldering material 6 for connecting the insulation layers 3 of two wires. The foregoing configuration enables to obtain uniform quality connection of the wire and considerably improves the work efficiency.
